At the Children’s Museum in Miami, changes have begun to improve what has been a favorite place for visitors to Miami, and the inhabitants of the City. And new experiences will be aligned with the core curriculum of the Miami-Dade Public Schools and will promote interest in STEAM, the idea of educating students in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
“We believe that if we do a good job here, we will be creating the new cultural generation as well as preparing the children for school,” Spiegelman added.
The MCM, which receives more than 430,000 visitors a year, is now home to the Early Childhood Institute Pre-School for children between 1 and 5 years old, and the MCM Charter School, with 400 students from Grades kindergarten through fifth.
The most recently announced innovation was the Bank of America exhibition, which opened earlier this month. The renovation features new interactive technology and digitization that introduces children to the concepts of winning, saving and spending. A touch screen allows children to practice number recognition, and a safe door inside a giant piggy bank leads to two interactive touch screens that encourage children to practice their math skills by counting back.
This Museum designed exclusively for children, has always been the main attraction of Miami> visit it and enjoy taking your children and family.
