By November 3, the opening of the Brickell City Center Mall marks the end of an era as construction comes to an end in Phase I of the development of Swire Properties, a mixed use of 4.9 million square feet. And although they have been years in drafting the project, they will not be ready to move on without first tying each loose end.
It rises in the center of the city and spans 9.1 acres along South Miami Avenue between Sixth and Eighth streets, and the total project is expected to provide approximately 5.4 million square feet.
Phase I will be the first in a series of setbacks in the massive $ 1.05 billion company that began in June 2012 with the foundation’s pioneering and underground construction and underground garage.
By the third quarter of 2013, the construction of Phase I had begun and by the first quarter of 2016, the completion was in sight.
Many Miami Residents and vacationers on Christmas Eve can enjoy and shop at the Mall for Christmas.
